For the second year in a row, GASSER PARTNER supported a student team in the course of the annual Moot Court at the University of Innsbruck. This year’s winning team was once again assisted by GASSER PARTNER – also for the second year in a row.
On 19 January 2016, the closing event of the Moot Court took place in the jury court room of the Higher Regional Court Innsbruck. After having submitted their written pleadings, the participating students had to orally plead their clients’ cases in a hearing before the "Supreme Moot Court" and respond to the questions of the prominently appointed senate of judges. The senate was composed of Dr. Christoph Brenn (judge of the Austrian Supreme Court), Dr. Christian Winder (vice president of the Tyrolean bar association) and university professor Dr. Alexander Schopper.
Leading law firms assisted the student teams in drafting their written pleadings and in preparing for the oral pleadings. Mag. Manfred Keller, MBA and Domenik Vogt, LL.M., LL.M. of GASSER PARTNER assisted the students Alice An, Sophie Herdina and Vanessa Pfurtscheller. At the hearing before court, the team supported by GASSER PARTNER was well prepared, acted in a very professional manner and gave an impressive oral pleading. The students excelled in answering the following questions by the senate and showed legal expertise and lawyerly qualities.
The oral pleadings were followed by the award ceremony in the room “New Orleans” of the University of Innsbruck. The team supported by GASSER PARTNER won the first price and thereby qualified for the Moot Court National Finals, which will take place in Graz this year. Once again, GASSER PARTNER will support them in the course of this contest.
