Biography

Univ.-Prof. (ret.) Dr. Hubertus Schumacher is a lawyer and emeritus university professor of civil procedural law at the University of Innsbruck. His practice focuses in particular on civil procedure law, insolvency law and arbitration and cross-border civil and commercial law matters.

He acts as an arbitrator in national and international arbitration proceedings and provides legal opinions to courts and arbitral tribunals.

From 2006 to 2025, he was a judge at the Princely Supreme Court in Liechtenstein, of which he was president from 2015 to 2025. He is the author of numerous publications on Austrian and Liechtenstein law and is a regular lecturer at the University of Innsbruck and the University of Liechtenstein.
